I spent yesterday morning thinking it was Thursday and today we’re getting a new sofa delivered. If anyone tells you middle-age is boring, they’re lying.

It scares me a bit that you consider yourself middle aged, as I’m probably ten years older and I consider myself middle aged too. And yes, I agree it doesn’t take as much to be busy as one gets older.

@odd Do you know? I’m not sure when middle-age starts, the age I am now (46 in July) seemed positively ancient even when I was 30 or so. I don’t feel old, or even middle-aged, but I’m probably considered so.

Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. I remember listening to the podcast “Roderick on the Line”, when John said something like “I’m 55 and middle aged, so I guess I’ll get like a 110…”. I was 54 in February btw. 👨🏻🦳

@odd My wife turned 50 in April. Never thought I’d be married to a 50-year-old. It’s just a number though, isn’t it?

Yes, I guess it is. If someone tells me to get down on the floor and up again 10 times quick, I’ll disagree, but when I’m in a good mood, I’m just 16 again.

@odd I’m fitter now than I was in my mid-twenties. I think that’s part of it as well, I need to clear some space and start yoga again. It’s awkward and wobbly, but it’s better than nothing.

Oh, good on you! Yoga is something I’d like to do later on. I’ve just invested in some training gear so “half” the job of getting in shape is done! 😅 Looking forward to being more active this summer.

@odd It is better to go to a teacher to make sure that you’re doing the poses properly, they can make adjustments. That said, I’m planning on doing the classes on Apple Fitness. I previously used Down Dog and another that were very mindful, I find the Apple ones a bit flashy for my tastes. Start slow and basic is my advice.

Thanks for the tips! There are only one place in town that seem serious for yoga classes, but it’s all across town. Some of the movements seem pretty basic, and I do have no less than two apps that show the exercises. iYoga Premium and Pocket Yoga. I might try to get someone to join me for classes in the fall.
