Maybe I need to get their walk done, then head out when we get home from the trail? That means a 5km run straight after a 5km walk. I prefer running up the trail, it’s a lot more pleasurable for me. No cars, fewer people and beautiful countryside. Maybe a walk/run and stop seeking perfection? 🏃🏻🐕

I feel like your last sentence (“stop seeking perfection”) is a good exhortation that I’d do well to apply in various contexts. So, thanks for that!
For what it’s worth, I have the same problem with my dog. I’ve resorted to walking him and then running solo. The walk serves as a nice way to warm up before my run.

@chrisheck I do feel I’m over complicating matters. I ended up running with Leela by accident rather than design, Shane arrived with us a while later, full of anxiety and trauma. He gets more out of exploring. I went through a stage of separate walks/runs but by the time that’s done it’s 1pm.

yes. the required time investment is definitely a constraining factor, not the mention the temperments and needs of each dog. Well, good on ya for getting out and being active with them.
